Welcome to Amazing Siding
& Windows!
AMAZING INSULATED SIDING SYSTEM: When it comes to re-facing
the exterior of your home, there are many options for a wood or
wood-like surface. There is the standard vinyl siding, fiber cement (Hardie)
siding, steel siding, cedar siding and the newest ASA or Acrylonitrile
Styrenic Acrolate siding. Our AmazingPlank and AmazingWall Insulated
Siding System are now made of ASA. ASA is a more weatherable cladding
material and more thermally stable than vinyl. Because if it’s acrylic
base, we now offer it in very dark designer colors. We have BROWN,
RED, GREEN and BLUE. It also has a lower authentic gloss finish.

HOW TO FIND A GOOD CONTRACTOR:
In St Louis, there are many good vinyl siding companies to choose
from. You have Sears Home Improvements, Thomas Construction, St. Clair
Corporation, Dalco Home Improvements just to name a few. Do your do
diligence. Don’t just rely on a familiar name or the longevity of the
company. Check out anyone you may be considering for your home
improvement project with the local Better Business Bureau. You can do
so on line at
http://www.stlouis.bbb.org or by phone at 314-645-3300. Another
thing to watch for is individuals operating their company out of their
home rather than an office with employees. It is a national fact that
most small businesses fail within the first 5 years leaving behind
many unprotected customers. These companies boast about their low
overhead saving you money but when there is legal or financial trouble,
it’s too easy to close up that company and start another leaving you
without a warranty.
Vinyl siding, when properly
manufactured and expertly installed, should provide insulation in a
few important ways:
- First, it should create structural
integrity. Vinyl siding can be thought of as a protective shell for
your home. In this way, it should be as seamless and durable as
possible.
- Second, vinyl siding should increase
R-value. R-value refers to thermal resistance, and is one way of
measuring the insulating capacity of any given material.
- Third, vinyl siding should allow
moisture to escape. By permitting the walls to “breathe,” the
problems associated with mildew and rot can be effectively averted.
- Finally, vinyl siding should prevent
air infiltration. In this way, the many unwanted elements carried by
the air—such as noise or pollution—can be significantly reduced.
CONSUMER FACTS AND TIPS:
Don’t be satisfied with a company that has had complaints but resolved
them.
First you need to understand the
process. Only about 10% of disgruntled customers ever file a complaint
with the BBB. This is usually after 4 to 7 attempts with the company
had either failed or been ignored. Most companies only resolved their
complaints after the BBB has gotten involved. If a company had 17
complaints in the short 3 year window reported, and only about 10%
file a complaint, this equates to about 170 dissatisfied customers. |
